Entering into a new year, some things change for the better while others remain a concern. We've weathered the economic storm and, keep your fingers crossed, it looks like things are improving.
The sight of construction cranes are a welcome sight. More people are entering into the workforce and "help wanted" signs are beginning to spring up. And on top of that, the price of gas continues to improve, at least as of this writing!
On the other hand, the political landscape continues to stir up the battlegrounds. While this will never end, it's obvious that the growth of the government and its agencies continue to spiral out of control, with agencies being created to justify existing agencies.
Construction of a local state-of-the-art veteran's hospital came to a halt. The project is $500 million over budget already, with no plan to raise the additional funds or set a finish date. The project has been turned over to another government agency. Come on now - this is a facility sorely needed for those who served our country, while the rest of us slept peacefully at night. OK, enough said.
